Scouter Rob Videos
Here is a great video series covering advancement requirements for Scout through First Class.
Scouting Safely
Few youth organizations encompass the breadth, volume, and diversity of physical activity common to Scouting, and none enjoys a better safety record. The key to maintaining and improving this exemplary record is the conscientious and trained adult leader who is attentive to safety concerns.
Protecting youth is our number one priority. If you aren’t familiar with our policies, please visit the National Youth Protection website.
Uniforms
The Boy Scouts of America has always been a uniformed body. Its uniforms help to create a sense of belonging. They symbolize character development, leadership, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Wearing a uniform gives youth and adult members a sense of identification and commitment. Guidance on proper wear of the uniform can be found in the Guide to Awards and Insignia.
While wearing the uniform is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged. If you have extra uniform items, please consider donating them to the troop so they may be used by future scouts.

Merit Badges
Merit badges provide scouts with the opportunity to investigate around 130 different areas of knowledge and skills. Playing a major role in the scouting advancement program, participation in the merit badge program can begin as soon as a scout registers with a troop. Each scout can explore a wide range of topics, from American Business to Woodworking, based on their interests. The only limitations are their ambition and the availability of adult merit badge counselors to offer instruction. Dive into the world of merit badges and discover endless possibilities!
